Scott Hutcheson has two careers. By day he works in community and economic development for Purdue University and has used his nights and weekends to become a professional writer. Home Grown Indiana is his first book but his writing can be found in many other places. He writes for Indianapolis Monthly magazine and has an award-winning syndicated newspaper column. Scott also writes and produces for Across Indiana on WFYI Indianapolis public television, contributes to the nationally distributed Eat Feed Midwest podcast, has a weekly radio show on WIRE, and is creator of the HungryHoosier.com website. Scott also teaches food writing in the culinary career training program of Second Helpings. He and his wife Lisa live in Lebanon with their sons Henry and Oliver.
