A Visit to Huber Family Farm and Restaurant
On our way back from a weekend trip to Lexington, Kentucky we stopped by Joe Huber's Family Farm and Restaurant for dinner. If you are not familiar with this place it is Indiana's primo example of agritourism featuring, not only the restaurant but also you-pick crops, winery, cheese shop, ice cream shop, produce market, and more.
On Saturday night, it was uber-crowded but we managed to get a seat in one of their annex banquet halls where they were serving their "Country Platter Dinner" buffet style. The selections included
- Country Fried Chicken
- Honey Ham
- Fried Biscuits and Apple Butter
- Sweet-and-Sour Slaw
- Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
- Greenbeans
- Corn
- Chicken & Dumplings
- Fruit Cobblers and Ice Cream
It was way too much food and I had a hard time staying awake for the drive home but we made it just fine. We also picked up a giant bag of apples for $6. I'm thinking of making apple dumplings!
