Hiatus for the "Where in Indiana" Contest

You may have noticed that the "Where in Indiana?" contest has been inactive since January 31st. I didn't announce the winner for the January contest because there wasn't one! For the first time ever, I got no entries. So, either everyone is stumped or nobody cares. Either way, I decided to take a break from the contest. Feel free to throw out some guesses for the January stumper. No prize now, but take a guess anyway.

"Where in Indiana" Contest - December 2006

Hpim0967This is the last "Where in Indiana" contest of 2006 and this one should be an easy one, so I'm anticipating lots of entries. Do you know where in Indiana this unique image was taken? If you've got the answer, drop me an email and tell me the name of the establishment and the city/town where it is located (also provide your full name and mailing address). Those with the correct answer will have their names entered into a drawing for an item out of the Hungry Hoosier store (take a look here). Congratulations to Nancy Hanner of Greenwood

WhitehorseNancy Hanner of Greenwood is the winner of the November "Where in Indiana" contest for correctly identifying the location of these these old-school Country Western memorabilia items. This COULD be found at the White Horse Cafe in Rockville, Indiana. I say COULD because the restaurant has recently changed hands and all the memorabilia is being sold off. Some on eBay. Nancy filled me in when she emailed me. Sad. The place won't be the same. I've stopped in on a couple of occasions for Coconut Cream Pie. Hopefully that won't change. Nancy, by the way, will win an item from the Hungry Hoosier Store.

Where in Indiana? Contest - September 2006

SuicideI'm not sure when and where the term was first used, but a "Suicide" is a drink made by combining several flavors of fountain soda. I'm in my early 40s and I can clearly remember doing this at the 7-11 back home in Peoria, Illinois. This would have been in the late 70s and early 80s so I know it was around then. We, however, never went to far as to have specific recipes for our concoctions. The mystery location of this month's "Where in Indiana?" contest takes the Suicide to new heights with suggestions for specific mixes.

Think you know where this photo was taken? If you've got the answer, drop me an email and tell me the city/town where this photo was taken (also provide your full name and mailing address). Those with the correct answer will have their names entered into a drawing for an item out of the Hungry Hoosier store (take a look here). The winner will be announced October 1, 2006 on this blog.
