A Visit to Wall Street
Life this week took me to Jeffersonville, Indiana where I had the opportunity to eat breakfast at the Wall Street Cafe. For over 25 years, the folks of Clark County, nearby Louisville, and other surrounding communities have been gathering at this small cafe for top-notch home-style cooking. Their real claim to fame is their hams - baked, hand-sliced, smoked, and country varieties. This seems to be the only Indiana restaurant that processes their own hams. They smoke 'em, cure 'em and do everything else to get them ready for their diners. They also get their pork from local Indiana farmers. Burgers are their other specialty - lean chuck, hand-patted. The Great Wallburger ($4.49) is a half-pounder! Lunch menu is available here.
The Wall Street Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch. They are located at 402 Wall Street in Jeffersonville and can be reached by phone at 812-288-6466.
