Skiles Orchard & Farm Market Greenhouse, Rossville

I didn't set out to buy strawberries on the first day of June but that is what ended up happening yesterday. Traveling east on SR 26 from Lafayette I looked up to see the sign for the Skiles Orchard & Farm Market Greenhouse just on the edge of Rossville. I picked up some lettuce grown there at Skiles and these strawberries. The berries were not grown by Skiles but by a nearby grower. Skiles also sells bedding plants and crafts. I was also impressed by some of their kid-friendly amenities - playground equipment, sandbox, etc. The strawberries were terrific - so much better than grocery store berries. I can't think of a better purchase to make on the first day of June.

Skiles is located at 9811 N. 600 W. They are open 9 am to 6 pm April - November Monday through Saturday. They can be reached by phone at 765-379-2339.
